Michelle Obama Shops At Target (PHOTOS)

Two of our favorite subjects -- FLOTUS and Target -- collided today, when Michelle Obama headed to the cheap-chic chain's Alexandria, Va. outpost for some retail therapy.

The first lady wore a floral shirt and lemon-hued tank, putting a sporty spin on the casual-cool ensemble with a Nike baseball cap. Judging by the two shopping bags she's toting, it looks as if she had a successful visit.

While Michelle's known to support high-end designers like Jason Wu, she's also given to stepping out in fast fashion. (Here she is in a Target frock two summers ago.)

I still recall when George H. W. Bush visited a supermarket as President and pointed in awe at the thing that scans your groceries. He'd never seen one before.

It's nice to know the First Lady isn't out of touch with normal, everyday things most Americans engage in. She's a very classy First Lady.

Michelle Obama has the largest staff of any previous first lady. I wonder why? Could it be that she has no financial worries like the rest of us who are trying to survive on Social Security. No taxpayer funded exotic vacation for us.

damn she was shopping there before and she will continue you to shop at the stores that has things she likes, what is wrong with tthat? And as far as photography i see people take pictures all the time in target, hell when my daughter got her lunch kit and back pack she was just as excited and wanted me to take a picture of her , and i did. camera in hand. how do you know this person didn't use a regular cell phone and take the picture? damn leave people alone, you won't find half the hollywood stars no where near a target or regular store cuz its beneath them

She's shopping without any secret service agents around? Yeah right, Target does not allow photography without prior permission in their store. Why did an AP photographer just happen to be there? It was a setup to show how "Normal" the first family is, and how they are trying to save money. That is why they went to Europe last year with 3 jets, and stayed in 10 hotel rooms for 12 nights, all at the Governments expense. In other words Ours, your and my paychecks.

I didnt see an admission in that article. In fact the AP reporter refused to give an interview and Ap attributed it to "good sourcework". There must be scores of people who know about such an event simply to provide security. Even Target was notified. Anyone could have leaked it. Sick of all of the criticism. At least she knows the price of milk (think back to Bush senior)

i was in Target today also. It's a relaxing place to walk around. As for as FLOTUS is concerned: sometimes you want to get out of the bubble. If she had been photographed shopping at Tiffany's, people would complain about that. She's damned if she does and really damned if she doesn't. I admire this woman and hope that she enjoyed her day.

So even if it was - we know she buys off the rack anyway and always has. So there is no need to put on the "plain folk charade". She's given many interviews about how her kids clean their own rooms and they cook their own meals often. Again why bother to play the role. They've had it down long before 2012 and even before that classy upfront and honest guy Perry ever hit the scene.

Someone please tell me who is cooler than Michelle Obama? Exhibit A: her arms. B: her intelligence. C: she clearly has a sense of humor. D: she is confident and down to earth at the same time. And, she is gorgeous. We are lucky, and I'm very proud, she is our first lady. Oh - and even cooler - I don't think she cares what I, or anyone else, thinks about her!
