Right Nation 2011 Postponed For Unknown Reasons

Right Nation Postpones Conservative Conference

Originally scheduled for early November, sources say the conservative conference Right Nation that drew about 6,000 people to Hoffman Estates last year has been postponed.

Although the event website still lists Nov. 3-5 as the event dates, Hoffman Estates Mayor William McLeod confirmed to the Daily Herald that he found out a few days ago the conference would be pushed back, but said he had "no idea why."

The date change could have been influenced by Right Nation's proximity to TeaCon, the Chicago Tea Party's rallying event this weekend in Schamburg, where Beck is headlining. American Conservatives Union Board Member Joe Morris, who has been working with the organizers of the conference, cited scheduling problems with some major participants as an explanation for the date change, a decision he told the Daily Herald he was "informed of...rather than participating in the making of it."

“Stepping back from it, (there appeared) more opportunity to do the conference in 2012 closer to the primary season and the general election,” Morris told the Daily Herald.

The new date for the three-day conference has yet to be announced. The United Republican Fund, which was organizing the event, declined to comment Wednesday, the Daily Herald reports.
