Some of the fondant creations on Etsy are mind boggling. If you do a search, you'll see some of the most amazing birthday cake or wedding cake toppers and decorations. The seashell ones look so real and are very reasonable. I was at a recent wedding where the bride made her cake and used the seashells to decorate it and you couldn't tell it from a professional cake (she's no professional).

http://www.etsy.com/listing/81683706/fondant-seashells these are the ones she used.

75% of the "handmade objects" on Etsy are mass-produced in China and resold under the guise of being "handmade".

There is one seller (Pugetsoundweddings), on Etsy that has the most uniquely beautiful hand made one of a kind card boxes ever. I have seen so many exceptional designs in the past from this seller. I also understand the seller is one heck of a wedding planner.
