Eric Foster Injury: Colts DT Sufferes Gruesome Injury Against Buccaneers (VIDEO)

Colts Player Suffers Gruesome Ankle Injury

Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Eric Foster suffered a gruesome injury in the final minutes of the first half in Monday night's game against the Buccaneers. Foster was shoved just after quarterback Josh Freeman got rid of the ball and it appeared as if he lost his footing. Foster injured his right ankle as he slipped and fell backwards over teammate Tyler Brayton on the ground.

Foster, 26, was immediately attended to by the training staff as the crowd in Tampa nearly went silent. Several players from both sides took a knee as Foster was carted off the field. He waived to the fans and even took handshakes from the Buccaneers players on his way to the tunnel.

ESPN reports that he was taken to the hospital and will stay over night.

Foster is in his fourth season out of Rutgers.
