UNITED NATIONS -- Billionaire financier George Soros says he sympathizes with protesters speaking out against corporate greed in ongoing protests on Wall Street.

Soros answered a question about the protests During a Monday news conference at U.N. headquarters about his participation in a large-scale development project in rural Africa.

Soros says he understands the frustrations of small business owners, for instance those who have seen credit card charges soar during the current crisis.

Soros founded the Open Society Foundations. He and Earth Institute at Columbia University director Jeffrey Sachs are announcing the newest phase of the Millennium Villages Project, which works closely with several U.N. agencies.

The occupation dwellers are a face value of certain powerful financiers to plot and overthrow our US government at a time when the citizens confidence is at its weakest point. The plot includes high ranking official payoffs, briber, & through deception, uprising, fingerpointing, faultfinding, accusing chaotically. All Americans and foreign peoples should re-evaluate their position concerning this occupy movement and research all information that identifies the movements origination starting with George Soros. Secondly, everyone who's interested should read about the Martin Luther King movement for equality and human rights and search for the simularities as well as critical differences. It would establish a better understanding for what you stand for as you decide what you are about.

This man is a chameleon. He changes and flip flops to benefit himself only. He admitted in an interview with Marty Kroft that a shrink called him insane.

Evil incarnate.

I would respect the protestors a bit more if they held up his name on the signs instead of just Koch.

Your are demonizing Koch brothers because the liberals ridicule and bring them up. Just like they demonize conservatives, black conservatives, Republicans, banks, car companies. Cripes there are two pages of people or businesses or whatever that the left has villified. Will you liberals please wake up?

Soros Loses Case Against French Insider-Trading Conviction

Billionaire investor George Soros lost a challenge to his 2002 insider trading conviction, with the European Court of Human Rights saying French market regulations were clear enough to hold him responsible.

France didn’t violate Soros’s rights in punishing him criminally for trading on inside information about Societe Generale SA in spite of the market regulator’s conclusion that its rules were unclear, the Strasbourg, France-based court said.

“Soros was a famous institutional investor, well-known to the business community and a participant in major financial projects,” the court said in a statement about its ruling. “As a result of his status and experience, he could not have been unaware that his decision to invest” risked violating insider- trading laws, and given “there had been no comparable precedent, he should have been particularly prudent.”

Soros, 81, was convicted in 2002 of insider trading and ordered to repay 2.2 million euros ($2.9 million) he’d made from the share purchase and subsequent sale after a Paris court found he’d acted with the knowledge that the bank might be a takeover target. While prosecutors filed criminal charges, French stock market regulators didn’t pursue Soros, saying insider-trading laws were too vague to determine whether he’d broken them.

I'm the child of a Holocaust survivor. Anti-Semitic comments seriously scare me

These neo-Nazis should not be allowed freedom of speech or have the right to publicly assemble. I would place their words and actions as equivalent to screaming FIRE in a crowded theatre. I consider it a psychological brutalizing, with physical effects on the threatened groups, non-whites and Jews.

They are an abomination to Jews, Poles, Russians, Gypsies, homosexuals and the disabled, that were targeted for extermination - murdered in the millions by the Nazis.

Those who make such remarks should be banned from posting here. When I come across such postings, it feels as if someone punched me very hard in the abdomin.

I thought this "Aryian super race" crap was put to death by the blood of American,
and Allied soldiers."

From the Freedom Plaza Occupation at Washington DC,
Its sad that certain individuals of this movement who claim to be "occupiers" feel the need to distort and dis-credit our message to end corporate greed. We take great pains to inform newcomers into our occupation that racism is not tolerated!
Our message comes from the 99% of all races, kindred, and foreign peoples abroad. Please do not confuse the platform with that garbage of racial prejudice. We stand for racial and gender equality.

02:43 PM on 10/12/2011
But both of them were able to make their billions from a deregulated financial system. If Occupy wall street had their way, soros would not be a billionaire today. What is so amazing about soros is that he made his money through means that are even seen by wall street as unethical.

You would think it would be the frugal Warren Buffet who sympathizes with the protestors and not Soros. He's just another Social Darwinist. The age of the Robber Baron is still upon us.

Yea Murdock would like for you to join his team to start wire tapping those 99% who are against his control of the World markets. You will fit right in until they arrest you and Murdock will claim he doesn't know a thing about what you are doing.

Someone who supports the President -- and therefore supports the United States of America -- is labeled by you as "creepy"? Plenty of other places you can live, Lox. I suggest you start looking immediately and get out.
