From zombie parades and costume contests to haunted houses and hayrides (to haunted anything!), the Halloween season casts its spell and awakens our inner ghouls and goblins. As part of FrightQuest -- a MapQuest series on spooky destinations and activities -- here are three options to celebrate Halloween in Alaska that are sure to be a scream.

Gateway To Darkness
Gateway to Darkness, located in Wasilla, is one of Alaska's largest and most popular Halloween attractions. The scary fun starts in early October and runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening through Halloween. The walk-through haunted house features costumed creatures and scary tableaux accompanied by a soundtrack of shrieks, moans and groans. Although the main attraction is best suited for teens and adults, there is a child-friendly Halloween light show every Sunday afternoon for those younger than 12.
