Help Widow Of Fallen Navy SEAL, Kimberly Vaughn, Find Lost Wedding Band

Aaron Vaughn

First Posted: 10/04/11 06:09 PM ET Updated: 12/04/11 05:12 AM ET

After Kimberly Vaughn's Navy SEAL husband was killed in Afghanistan, she kept his memory close by wearing his wedding band. Kimberly lost that ring on Saturday while traveling and has launched a Facebook campaign to help her find it.

Kimberly's husband, Aaron, was one of 30 men killed in a helicopter crash in Afghanistan on Aug. 6. Kimberly had his silver wedding band, which had her name engraved on it, when he died, The Washington Post reported. She wore the ring on her thumb and said that she was "crushed" when she realized she lost the ring on Saturday while traveling home from Texas.

The widow hopes that spreading the word will help bring the sentimental piece of jewelry back to her.

"I don't need a ring as a reminder of our love," she told The Washington Post. "But it meant so much to me, and it is devastating to have it gone."

If you want to help, you can reach Kimberly Vaughn via her Facebook page.

What a beautiful couple and he's gone. I 'm sorry for the loss of this true Patriot. I pray she finds her ring. Too many young, dead soldiers. It angers me to think about the Cheney administration and their cast of thieves, liars, warmongers, vampires, ghouls, monsters, spiders, gargoyles, lying us into a war. They are still not behind bars. No, Mr. President, I did NOT want to 'look forward', I wanted to look backwards and try each and every one of these awful people. That is why you got a mandate from 10, yes, 10 million people, but you, as usual, looked the other way. That was not the right thing to do; not by a long shot.

Dude, whatever you political opinion might be about the war, this guy died in the line of service, a service that needs guts, lot of personal sacrifice, dedication and a strong sense of duty. So he and his wife deserves respect. I'm just saying.

A service that needs brainwashed kids deluded with propaganda and patriotism and a desire to slaughter humans for a paycheck. They are paid to klll who ever they are told to klll and they wouldn't do it unless they got paid. Sorry, but that is the truth.

That entire "crash" debacle is suspect...it is well documented in Special Ops that you don't transport that many highly trained operatives in a single chopper...w/all the cash available to that segment of the military community why weren't they transported in a number of Blackhawks...i do hope she finds her ring.

I asked the same and a good answer I was given on some boards was Black Hawks do not operate very well at the elevation they were at. But you point made me say well why not 2 or more Chinooks.

Also a good reply was we do not know what was Operationally available in theater as this was the back up team. But I think the elevation was an issue. The mountains there can play a great role in neutralizing one of our greatest combat tactical advantages, rapid mobility.
