YOUR TAKE: Why Are Students Cheating On The SAT?

Can We Prevent SAT Cheating?

Last week, an SAT cheating scandal rocked the nation. 19-year-old Emory University student Sam Eshagoff was charged for standing in to take the SAT for six students from his former school, Long Island's Great Neck North High School. The students -- who paid Eshagoff between $1,500 and $2,000 to take the test for them -- are now facing misdemeanor charges. In the wake of this scandal, the office of District Attorney Kathleen Rice is investigating whether other SAT scams have taken place in at least two other high schools.

What do you think drives students to pay thousands of dollars in an attempt to score higher on the SAT? How much pressure do you feel to get into a top tier college? Tell us your thoughts in the comments!
