Amanda Seyfried In Therapy For Panic Attacks

Fame isn't all it's cracked up to be, just ask Amanda Seyfried.

The 25-year-old actress confessed to the British edition of Glamour that she's developed panic attacks as the result of being in the public eye, and now visits a therapist to help her cope with the anxiety, reports Us Weekly.

Seyfried calls therapy a "great tool" and said she's doing well but admits, "I still do get terribly nervous, and that's party due to the fact i think too much and overanalyze things. I'll start worrying about my parents or my dog, and I'll picture him opening the window of my apartment and falling out, even though I can't get that thing open myself."

Us Weekly also reports the former "Mean Girls" star also lists past relationships with acts Dominic Cooper and Ryan Phillipe as a source of anxiety.

"Dominic and I were together for such long time, so the coverage was not always positive. But when you've just started seeing someone and that person is really famous, it's more of a story," she explained.

For now, Seyfried seems to have given up on dating industry types, currently dating real estate executive Andrew Joblon.

She told Glamour that when she was dating Ryan Phillippe photographers followed her much more often, and that's one of the reasons she's not looking to date someone who's famous now.

"When I was with Ryan, people followed me so much more, and that's probably one of the reasons that I'm not looking to date someone who's famous now."

She may want to keep a lower profile in her personal life, but things are about to pick up for Seyfried who stars opposite Justin Timberlake in the sci-fi thriller "In Time," due out at the end of October.
