And The First 2012 Candidate To Endorse Occupy Wall Street Is...

Buddy Roemer

... former Louisiana governor Buddy Roemer (R). If you've been following his presidential campaign -- and the media, having shut Roemer out of the debates, has made this hard! -- you'll know that this is in keeping with his unique political platform. His campaign releases the following statement:

Manchester, NH -- Republican presidential candidate Buddy Roemer released the following statement regarding the Occupy Wall Street Movement.

As I continue touring college campuses throughout New Hampshire, I am reminded of all the young Americans currently taking part in the Occupy Wall Street movement. Please know that I stand by you.

It is Main Street that creates the majority of jobs in America; it is Main Street that sends our brave young men and women to war; it is Main Street that hurts when another manufacturing plant closes only to be re-opened in China; it is Main Street that is being foreclosed on; and it is Main Street that is suffering while the greed of Wall Street continues to hurt our middle-class.

Too-big-to-fail banks have only gotten bigger thanks to government bailouts, and as president, I will end the corporate tax loopholes that un-American corporations take advantage of only to ship our jobs overseas. Fair trade not Free trade.

Money in politics has created institutional corruption. Both parties are guilty of taking the big check and are bought by Wall Street. My campaign is the only one that speaks out against this and I look forward to the day lobbyists are not allowed to donate to campaigns.

Wall Street grew to be a source of capital for growing companies. It has become something else: A facilitator for greed and for the selling of American jobs. Enough already.

Dave Weigel scoops it first and puts the $64,000 question out there: "This will be a test if anything Roemer says can get attention."

Dylan Ratigan, take note!

I saw an interview of Buddy Roemer. It was very interesting. He was saying so many common sense things. I almost cheered. Still, I am not trusting of republicans anymore. I think this might be a trick too. Here's the scenario. He will appear the underdog at first-being shut out of the debates, etc, while the rest of the un-electable candiadates kill time and make a mockery out of the system. Then, Roemer breaks through, saying all the right things that even republicans are needing to hear. Of course, they will need to keep trashing Obama and creating choas where they can. Then, when Roemer is elected, he will turn and do the worst things imaginable, like the tea party candidates did when they got in. Who can blame me for being so untrusting of the republicans, seriously.

You trusted Obama. He lied many many times.

Good for Buddy Roemer!

Occupy Wall Street has the attention of the people who control this country. Now they are out to try and interpret what it is all about. The "experts" turn to trivial two-party partisanship. The remarks are just ridiculous, including that this is a movement to reinvigorate Presidente Hopium. Herman Cain had the audacity to twist this into a criticism of people who don't work. No Herman, this Movement is about your cronies feeding at the trough.

What "they" just don't get is that OWS is a pro-democracy, anti-kleptocrat Movement. It is not about class warfare. OWS is pro-American in the traditional sense. It is about removing the anti-democratic influence of money from politics. Kleptocracies using government and the corrupt two party system are dangerously anti-American. The Movement can't let them take the high ground. The high ground belongs to the Movement.

The Movement will naturally attract true conservatives and true progressives, and true moderates versus "falsies" who push corrupt status quo anti-democracy agendas. I am proud that the Movement sees through this. Stay the course against the corruptos.

All the politicos went with the Tea Party and the destroy the world faction, because that's where the money is... lovingly given out by Norquist and the Koch brothers.

QUESTION: What do the Occupy Wall Street Movement and 2012 Republican Presidential Candidate Buddy Roemer have in common?
ANSWER: They are both currently experiencing a mainstream media blackout.

So,

why has MSM shut him out? Shouldn't the media give equal weight to all Presidential Candidates?

Unfortunately, I wouldn't vote for him even if he didn't get shut out--he is a self-proclaimed Republican. Of course, I wouldn't vote for the Democrat either if there was a Bernie Sanders type running.

WOW NO WONDER THEY DON'T WANT HIM IN THEIR DEBATES IT WOULD BE A LANDSLIDE VICTORY FOR HIM BUT IT WOULD HURT THE THE GREEDY LITTLE MEN OF CONGRESS WHO WANT TO KEEP COLLECTING FROM THE CORPORATIONS

I'd take Roemer over all of those phony airhead Republican presidential candidates the media keeps shoving our way. It's a shame he's frozen out of the debates. He's the one Republican out there showing the understanding needed to lead this troubled Nation.

Anyone who speaks out against free trade like this guy should get a serious look by EVERY informed American voter, as this is the number one job kil-ler. Notice how no other cans

We have already tried "free" trade and it failed us miserably. May be he is right to talk about "fair" trade.

This is one progressive that might give this Republican candidate a serious look.

It's pretty cut and paste GOP, except he seems to be more vocal about his opposition to Corporate tax loopholes. That's about it.

No wonder why Roemer can't make it in the national GOP scene. He sounds too honest.

So Moveon, Van Jones and the Unions are prodding these people - the dumbing down of America never ceases to amaze me.

Did Steve Jobs panhandle on Wall Street for a job - NO, HE BUSTED HIS BUTT! As did every other successful person in this world.
