Garba 2011: Celebrating The Divine Feminine (PHOTOS)

Garba is a traditional Gujarati dance that is performed during the nine-day Hindu festival Navratri. The word garba comes from the Sanskrit word for gestation or pregnancy. Typically, garbas are performed around a clay lantern with a light inside or pictures / statues of the Goddess Shakti, the Hindu feminine Divine force. Men and women wear colorful costumes and dance vigorously for all nine nights of Navratri. Below is a slideshow of garba photos from around the world. Add your own!
