I'm so surprised at the depth of grief I experienced this morning when I heard about the death of Steve Jobs. I've so much admiration for him, in particular, for the elegant and courageous manner in which he faced his death.

Blessings to him in his passage - and to his family for their loss. May they find peace in the rich and vibrant and remarkable legacy he's left in this world.

I offer a Buddhist prayer to honor him:

May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness
May all be free from sorrow and the causes of sorrow
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness that is sorrow-less
and live in equanimity
without too much attachment and too much aversion
and live believing in the equality of all that lives.

He made an enormous contribution to the world. Tragically, he will himself not contribute more but such a person does not leave a vacuum -- he leaves a plenitude. Apple and Pixar have advanced this world for both adults and children. We can only marvel and be grateful.

So sad that in this day and age, cancer is still the unbeatable boogie man. RIP, Sir. I lost too many to cancer, how about we declare war on that?

Pancreatic cancer. He actually lived longer than most pancreatic cancer patients but it is a horror. I have lost several cousins to it. It is an unyielding and cruel way to go.

As expected as this was, it is still - just - so - sad.

RIP Good Man. Condolences to your family. And yes, you are most definitely the Thomas Edison of my generation.

This is truly a tremendous lost!!!! A hard working person, a dedicated human being, a genuine human being and a great creative mind has left this earth!!!!! It is with great sadness that a person of such talent for the future of the creative mind has to die at the age of 56!!!!! There are those truly evil on this earth that are assure many years of life just to do evil to the community and the unfairness of this life robbed us of Steven Jobs!!!!! A GREAT HUMAN BEING!!!!!! WE'LL MISS YOU!!!!!!!
