When we think of Steve Jobs, we will think of a black turtleneck and jeans.

It was, after all, Jobs' standby style, the outfit he sported each time he stook before that giant screen to herald another technological innovation into our homes and into our culture consciousness. Yet there was Steve Jobs before the black turtleneck and before the jeans.

To honor his memory in the best way fashion lovers can, here's a look back at Steve Jobs' sartorial start in Silicon Valley all the way to his black-clad days on the top of the tech world.

So sad to lose such a brilliant innovator who made such great, good-looking products.

Oh, he was a hottie back in the day. I used to have a picture of him on my wall next to posters of Jason Bateman, Harrison Ford/Han Solo and Scott Baio. :)

You can really tell when his health started failing...such a strong man to do what he did despite the fact that he was so sick.

Just looking at the change in his appearance during the later years due to his illness makes the tears come to my eyes. God bless his soul and his family and friends.

Yes, he had to be in an incredible amount of pain. When I saw the last photo taken of him standing with aide of a friend, they both looking at the camera, I did cry. Cancer is a beast and pancreatic cancer is always in beast mode. Celebrating a beautiful mind. People bash him, but many people have character flaws, I being one. May GOD bless his soul.

1955, the year Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and many other people were born, and who made a difference in this world.

I'm sure Steve Jobs wants to be remembered for his clothes. Give me a break.

He definitely created his own style - and he wore it well.

I had a turtleneck when I was little -- long before I'd ever heard of Steve Jobs -- but I never liked wearing it. To each his own.

I love fashion but I have a certain respect for people who wear the same thing a lot. They don't care about trends or people mocking them, they just wear what they like. Funny enough fashion designer Michael Kors always seems to wear the same thing!

it's their own signature, same as Karl Lagerfeld, Ann Wintour's hair, etc.

Whoa, he was a hottie back in the day. Such gorgeous dark eyes.... he definitely worked the Nerdy Love God look, that's for sure.

RIP, Steve Jobs, RIP.

He looks like Ashton Kutcher in the first photo.

I was thinking the same thing, but Ashton play as young Steve Jobs, in a movie about Steve Jobs.

That last photo is heart-breaking; he appears to have been eaten from the inside. As for his style, I would say its more distinctive than iconic. He definitely made a black mock turtleneck and Levi 501's seem cool.
