Mexico: Marines Seize Marijuana, Kill Drug Cartel Members

MEXICO CITY -- Mexican marines say they seized more than 4 tons of marijuana, arrested 36 cartel members and killed 11 others during five days of raids through the violent border state of Tamaulipas.

Those arrested include the alleged head of the Gulf Cartel in the town of Miguel Aleman, who was captured after a gunfight in which 10 cartel members died. The marijuana was found in two locations.

Marine spokesman Jose Luis Vergara said in a press conference in Matamoros that marines also seized 251 hand grenades and 35 grenade launchers.

The Gulf Cartel was once the dominant trafficking network in the area but is now in a war with the surging Zetas cartel for control.

Thank you Marines! Someone is thinking ahead and getting rid of these drug lords with the weaponry and have killed enough people. These are the type of groups coming into the US. If you watch the Miami news station--or the border states, you will be fearing for yourself/family. Of course if you're a stoner, you are crying about the weed.

DEA jumps in when they are old, ill,broke, or stupid... They are a waste of tax dollar's... As for Mexico it's about time they did something.. It may be pot now,but it could be coke,heroin, or assassin's next.. I'm glad they did what they did, and maybe folks will think twice....It was only 10 drug runners,but, how many good people were murdered by them?

What do you think? I think that we need to DEMAND drug testing of ALL elected officials. Don't you think that what's good for us, should be good for them too? I do. Since using is so criminal, we can have them thrown into the "profit" prisons made for us and finally GET RID of them! :)

When i read the headline of this post i though, thats a bit harsh cant they just buy their weed like regular guys? I suppose its one of the fringe benefits of being part of the government ,obviously repeat business is out of the question but its less of a problem when you grab 4T of the stuff!

If you want to see Marijuana legalized, because you are an adult American who believes every American has the right to do with his/her body as he/she see's fit, as long as he/she is not forcibly harming others...

If you are an American who believes the U.S. Government doesn't have the right to tell you what proven effective medicine is "available" for you or not...

If you are an American who believes the government doesn't have the right to Control every aspect of you life, so long as you do not harm others...

Thank you for posting that. Mr. Paul should have won the last time. We would have been in much better condition in our coutry had he won and not been slandered.
