January Jones Is Back On Set Of 'Mad Men' (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 10/11/11 10:25 AM ET Updated: 12/11/11 05:12 AM ET

January jones is wasting no time. After giving birth to her son, Xander Dane, last month, Jones is already back to work.

The 33-year-old star was spotted on set of the hit AMC series "Mad Men" on Monday, channeling her icy character, Betty Draper Francis. Her co-stars, Jon Hamm & John Slattery were caught in character last month in Los Angeles, sporting their skinny ties and ad man attitudes.

Jones had her main man, baby Xander, close by. The 1-month-old slept in his mommy's trailer while she shot scenes. "Mad Men" is set to return to the small screen in early 2012.

God, I hate her character. She does a great job being unlikeable on television.

Look at me, I'm mad/sad/frigid. I just played Betty Draper. Where the hell is my check, AMC?!

Most boring character on the show.

Robs screentime from better actresses.

It's Chelle ... again.

The core of the character is emotionally disconnected, deeply sad, and prone to anger because of her essential powerlessness. I don't find that boring at all, because the Mad Man viewer temperament tends to skew toward thinking about the psychological underpinnings, and the way a time and a society shapes someone's character.

Love the pic of Don Draper chillin' on the street corner. If I walked out of a cafe with my coffee and ran into that, I might freakin' die!

For her sake, I hope "Mad Men" goes on for a good, long time and that she is investing her money wisely. She cannot do anything but Betty Draper Francis. The flat delivery and dull eyes are perfect for a woman living life as a 60s robot. Not much else.

Channeling Betty Draper seems to be all she's capable of. I've seen her in several other roles and she is the same character in each one. Range is not a word I use to describe January.

You are right about her acting range. I think she's a great print model.

Yes, it reminds me why I should be thankful I wasn't born until after 1980. (I'm a woman.)

I'm a woman as well, born before 1980, and I have no complaints about life. 1980 isn't some magical cut off point for a better quality of life.

I'm thinking the plot has her become a Valium addict (Mommy's little helper!), then whatever constituted rehab in 1965, then she divorces again and becomes a Betty Friedan feminist on the Upper West Side.

Sounds like you're reading ahead on plot points. I thought so too.

If not her, someone else on the show will. Valium was HUGE back then. And then, after the birth control pill, so was the sexual revolution, feminism and all kinds of good stuff. :-)

She should be drinking a Tab in that photo, not a Perrier. Let's stay in the mid-60s!

Looks like the dressers on set are keeping true to the 60s. I remember those pompoms and those colors.
