Kid Rock Announces Struggling-City Charity Tour

Kid Rock is putting his money where his lyrics are, as he prepares for a charity tour to benefit each of the 12 struggling city he visits.

Taking a cue from the benevolent words in his 2010 single “Care,” Kid Rock is using his “Underplay” club tour as a platform to give back to cities in need, the rock star announced in a press release Monday. The “Cowboy” singer partnered with businesses in his Detroit hometown, including Compuware Corporation and Quicken Loans Inc., to donate funds to local charities, causes and individuals via the Kid Rock Foundation.

“Everyone knows that Detroit is hurting,” Kid Rock said in a press release. “But I want to show that even though we don't have a lot on our own plate, it doesn't mean the people of my hometown don't have compassion to share with others all over the country.”

Kid Rock kicks off his tour in Atlanta, Ga., on Nov. 10 at Center Stage with the Twisted Brown Trucker Band and wraps it up on Dec. 6 at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, Wash.
