iPhone 4S Review Roundup: Critics Weigh In On Apple's New iPhone

On October 4, the iPhone 5 was not announced, but something else was. It's called the iPhone 4S, and it looks exactly like the iPhone 4. Right away, many stood in unison to condemned the new handset as a "disappointment," even before they'd held it in their hands.

But on October 12, two days before the iPhone 4S hit stores, reviews started to pour in, and they were anything but dismal. Tech writers had fallen in love with a phone. Specifically, they had fallen in love with Siri, a voice-recognition artificial intelligence feature that debuted on the iPhone 4S. They described Siri as "transformative" "limitless" and the "intern of my dreams."
