Hamish Bowles' "X Factor" Tape Revealed (VIDEO)

WATCH: Vogue Editor Auditions For "X Factor"

What Anna Wintour wants, she gets. Apparently one of her recent desires was for Vogue's editor at large Hamish Bowles to audition for "X Factor" under the disguise of Leo Mercuré, a hairdresser from London. "I had to read the e-mail from the editor in chief several times to be quite sure," Bowles wrote in the October issue of Vogue, "There, buried like a time bomb in a bouquet, was this chilling sentence: 'I have signed you up to compete in 'The X Factor.'"

While his essay appeared in the magazine's October issue, the video evidence was nowhere to be seen. Watch the video below to see the usually chic editor perform a rendition of "Oops! ... I Did It Again" by Britney Spears for Simon Cowell. Of course he was impeccably dressed in a Philip Treacy hat, gold Christian Louboutin shoes and a Mugler suit. Unfortunately the judges sent him home but I think he deserves an 'A' for effort.
