Man Critically Injured In Chicago Lounge Stabbing (VIDEO)

A man was left in critical condition Thursday after he was stabbed in the neck at a lounge in Chicago's West Loop.

Police say that the attacker was hitting on the 43-year-old man's girlfriend around midnight Wednesday at Plush, a lounge and restaurant located at 1103 W. Madison Street. When the man confronted the other man about making a pass at his girlfriend, the conversation quickly became heated, the Chicago Tribune reports. The attacker pulled out a knife and stabbed the other man in the neck.

After the stabbing, the attacker fled the scene. No one is yet in custody. Authorities have also yet to recover a weapon from the scene, according to Fox Chicago.

Neighbors of the lounge told NBC Chicago that they have grown tired of similar altercations happening at the business and have petitioned to get its liquor license taken away. Plush representatives have yet to respond publicly to the stabbing.

At a January City Council meeting, area residents complained that the lounge is a public danger, according to the Chicago Journal. Last August, a murder occurred across the street from the business. Plush owner Billy Kleronomos claimed that complaints about his club have carried racial undertones.

"In order to be accepted by the community, I would have to put a sign outside my restaurant that said, 'No black people allowed,'" Kleronomos said at the meeting.
