Fenton Patch:

She wanted to overcome the torture of other students teasing her, spit wads being thrown at her and the debilitating disease that weakened her.

Gabrielle 'Gabe' Ford refused to use a wheelchair despite her stuggles to walk and wanted to move across the stage for her 1998 Lake Fenton High School graduation on her own two legs.

When she went to do it, however, she fell and many students laughed.

Gabe your school assemblies are amazing. You present your presentation different than any other speaker because of the story life has given you. There is only one GABE & IZZY and the students connect with you. There is no question in my mind your are AMERICA'S VOICE FOR THE BULLIED. Ten years, long before bullying became a hot topic you began your journey to prevent school bullying. The comments from students who promise to never bully again after your life has touched theirs is a God given gift. Go Gabe... do as many students have asked, go around to schools around the world and share you story because it has proven to stop bullying.
You can hear a pin drop when you speak to thousands of students at a time... YOUR THE REAL DEAL and students know it! They love you! I love you and all you have done to make schools a better place one school at a time. Preventing a student from following through with his planned suicide is amazing. This is your calling in life... all must visit www.gabeandizzy.com and read all the comments, they will bless you.

What a beautiful love story. Gabe and Izzy were made for each other. I have a hard time understanding how a person could bully someone in a wheelchair or any other vulnerable position. Fortunately, Gabe has the courage to reach out to these people.
