Things got a little personal on Friday's "Today" when Kathie Lee and Hoda talked about the things they would rather do than have sex. This being the fourth hour of that program, it was about as measured as you'd expect!
The ladies referenced a recent iVillage survey that asked women to list things they would rather do.
As Hoda and Kathie Lee discussed the list of alternatives (which included reading a good book and sitting in air conditioning...yikes!), Kathie Lee shared her very distinct point of view on carnal relations. She did this in a voice that could have been mistaken for that of the witch from "Hansel and Gretel" by way of Brooklyn.
She told Hoda (in her regular voice), "you know...I think sex is a beautiful, beautiful expression of life... But it ain't all of life! And we are saturated by it in our culture." She added that "people who would have been perfectly fine" with the sex they were having were now complaining to their partners (and here began that creepy witch-from-Hansel-and-Gretel-voice), "oh, I didn't have five orgasms last night- what's wrong with you?!"
Hoda erupted with laughter and Kathie Lee continued talking about this imaginary woman who complained about having too few orgasms. She said "...You know the guy thought they had a perfectly nice time!" Kathie Lee responded as the woman with the creepy witch voice but this time, the woman sounded ten years older and Kathie Lee closed one of her eyes, pirate-style. Did we mention that Kathie Lee's drink seemed noticeably less full than usual?
If this wasn't enough action for one segment, another weird moment occurred after the sex talk. Kathie Lee and Hoda snapped at their staff chatting off camera for being too loud. "Hey guys, we don't know what's going on over there but it must be far more fascinating than what we're talking about over here," Kathie Lee said. "Can you keep it down?" Hoda added. Sounds like somebody is ready for the weekend!
