Michigan Fan Proposes To Buckeye In Ohio Midfield As Testament To Love

The Michigan Wolverines and the Ohio Buckeyes finally healed their age old rivalry! Well, partially and in some sense.

On Tuesday, Johnny Wakefield, a Michigan fan proposed to his girlfriend, Abbey Zellers, an Ohio Buckeye devotee in the middle of the Ohio stadium. His girlfriend immediately said yes.

The Columbus Dispatch has more:

Knowing he had found "the one," Wakefield set up the Ohio Stadium rental ($150 for up to one hour). He planned to propose at sunset.

Brittan Roth of the OSU athletic department said the school fields about five similar "proposal" requests a year, with the income going to one of the department's general funds.

For yesterday, Wakefield had planned for him and Zellers to wear OSU and Michigan sweatshirts, but the evening proved too warm. Everything else, though, went flawlessly.

According to NBC Sports, it was the first time a Michigan Fan had bowed down to Ohio State since "the Bo Schembechler era." And if that makes sense to you, well then, we here at HuffPost College salute you.
