LeBron James Attends Liverpool-Manchester United Match (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 10/15/2011 2:26 pm Updated: 12/15/2011 5:12 am

With NBA Commissioner David Stern already canceling the first two weeks of the 2011-12 NBA season, the league's players are going to have some free time on their hands. It seems like LeBron James is making the most of it. The two-time MVP took a trip to England to watch Liverpool, the football club that he acquired a minority stake of back in April, take on Manchester United at Anfield on Saturday.

A nattily attired LeBron donned a Liverpool scarf and watched from the directors' box. He almost got to see a big win, but Chicharito scored the equalizer in the 81st minute for Man U (Insert LeBron 4th quarter joke here). Scroll down to check out some photos of LeBron at the match.

I am shocked Lebron isn't a Manchester United fan. It would make total sense given that he is a Dallas Cowboys and NY Yankees fan.

Maybe he is a Man U fan... after all we know he has a habit of cheering for teams that he has no real attachment to, as you pointed out.

I'm not a soccer fan, but I have to admit... that continuously running clock is far superior to anything we have in American sports -- football, basketball, and baseball have to do something about the constant starts and stops, timeouts, TV timeouts, stepping out of the batter's box, stepping off the pitchers mound, etc.

Agreed and great point - especially in relation to baseball (I can't make it through an entire game anymore). The only sport that doesn't need this rule is hockey - it moves at a quick pace.

Lebron would be good at soccer. They don't have 4th quarters.
