We all know what happens to Pinocchio once he is turned into a real boy, but, don't you think we need a little more scene?

If your nose is growing, you're in luck. According to Deadline, Fox is developing a "Pinocchio" prequel, titled "The Three Misfortunes of Geppetto," written by Mike Vukadinovich.

The story focuses on the kindly wood carver, Geppetto, who recounts his life of misfortunes while chasing his one true love, Julia Moon.

Shawn Levy ("Real Steel," "Night at the Museum 1 & 2") is spearheading the project and is also slotted to direct. This is the second project Levy has secured with Fox; he is set to direct a sci-fi Max Landis-scripted "Frankenstein," as well.

His most recent film, "Real Steel," starring Hugh Jackman, held the top spot its opening weekend. But can he tackle the backstory of one of the most beloved fairytales of all time?
