Paul McCartney, Nancy Shevell Honeymoon In Mustique

Macca Goes A-Honeymooning!

Just a week after marrying at Old Marleybone Town Hall October 9, Sir Paul McCartney and Nancy Shevell took off for a brief honeymoon on the Caribbean island of Mustique, the Sunday Mirror reports.

The newlyweds are reportedly staying at Mick Jagger's Japanese-inspired beach-front mansion, which normally runs a cool $15,000 a week.

The paper reports that the duo arrived Friday after flying through St. Lucia from London. One islander told the Sunday Mirror that “Sir Paul is a regular visitor to Mustique and has stayed before at the home of Mr Jagger. He loves the privacy the island offers and there is no better place to spend a honeymoon. Everyone will just leave them to enjoy their special time together.”

Jagger's retreat offers six-bedrooms, stunning views, a hot tub, private chef and butler, a 25-foot swimming pool and a tennis court. While anyone can rent the estate, would-be vacationers must provide their names, addresses and occupations to be vetted by Jagger, the Sunday Mirror reports.

CTV spoke with Basil's Bar owner Basil Charles about the honeymooning duo. Charles told the news outlet, "I've not seen Sir Paul yet but he's been in a few times in the past. Everyone would love to see him and Nancy and raise a glass to the happy couple. I met them in February the last time they were here and they seemed so happy together."
