Leonardo Parera Tape: Mountain Lakes Shooter Tells 911 Dispatcher He's 'Ready To Die'

LISTEN: Shooter Tells 911 Dispatcher: I'm Ready To Die

NEWARK, N.J. -- A New Jersey man shot dead by police matter-of-factly told a 911 dispatcher that he killed someone and was ready to shoot any police officers who approached his car.

The Morris County Prosecutor's Office on Tuesday released the 911 recording from Friday's shootings in Mountain Lakes.

On the tape, 39-year-old Leonardo Parera of Kearny tells the dispatcher: "Just get the cops here. I'm reloading right now and I'm going to shoot anybody that approaches the car."

The exchange came moments after prosecutors say Parera shot and killed 47-year-old Christine King of Jefferson Township inside the Exit Realty Gold Service office.

Parera tells the dispatcher he needs to "make some calls and let people know I'm going to be dead now."
