Man On A Mission To Draw Every Person In New York (VIDEO)

WATCH: Man On Mission To Draw Every Person In New York

What's one thing all New Yorkers have in common? Sketch artist Jason Polan is out to draw every last one of them.

Since 2008, Polan has been creating sketches of New Yorkers and posting them on his blog, Every Person In New York. And just as no two people are alike, neither are two sketches. Some abstractly capture a New York moment between friends or lovers—one looks more like a biology sketch; another leans toward street art. Others are more standard sketched portraits.

The titles, too, range in specificity, from "Jonathan Safran Foer at the Museum of Modern Art" to "Man at Taco Bell on 14th St." Just as a sketch captures the outlines of one's form to render a likeness, so Polan, through a gesture, a caption, or something else, manages to create a quick yet substantial understanding of each and every subject. By sketching New Yorkers unexpectedly, he manages in 2 minutes to create an understanding of who they are.

So all you New Yorkers looking for a portrait, email Jason at art@jasonpolan.com to arrange a meeting place. Help him speed up the process because right now it's looking like this is going to take him a while. But just to be safe, save the date, because according to his website: "When the project is completed we will all have a get together."
