World Series Surprise: St. Louis Cardinals Fan With ALS Finds Out Team Is Giving Him Royal Treatment (VIDEO)

WATCH: Why Is This Cardinals Fan So Excited?

Cardinals fans may have been jumping for joy when their team won a spot in the World Series. But one fan is even more excited to be headed to the series along with his city's sluggers.

Long time fan Tom Gassner will be going to Game 2 of the World Series thanks to the generosity of his favorite baseball team, KSDK.com reports.

Gassner, who was diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease, is paralyzed from the neck down and has had to watch the games from home.

"I haven't been to the park in a couple of years," he told the news outlet.

His daughter wrote to KSDK telling his story and the network passed it along to the Cardinals. The team offered him a wheelchair accessible seat at the game and a custom jersey to wear.

KSDK was first to break the news to Gassner.
