MAP: Where Gaddafi Was Reportedly Killed

Muammar Gaddafi reportedly has been captured and killed in his hometown of Sirte, which lies along the northern coast of Libya.

While much of the news about the conflict has come out of the nation's capital, Tripoli, the conflict came to a head as rebel forces took control of the city. While initial reports could not confirm whether Gaddafi had been captured or killed, numerous photos and videos have emerged showing the leader's dead body.

The fate of Gaddafi's son Mutassim has not yet been determined.

According to the Associated Press, Gaddafi's body has been loaded onto a truck and is headed for the city of Misrata, which was held for months by loyalist forces.
