First Posted: 10/22/11 03:15 PM ET   Updated: 12/21/11 05:12 AM ET

For the second year running, Columbia University is the most sexually healthy college in the nation, according to a set of rankings from Trojan.

The condom connoisseurs evaluated 140 colleges on the basis of sexual health resources -- including contraceptive availability, STD testing and students' thoughts on the each school's attitude toward sexual health.

Columbia accrues laurels in part for its "Go Ask Alice" website, which offers a trove of information about sex to students in a safe, academic forum.

See below the top 10 most sexually healthy colleges in America. Do you consider your school to be sexually healthy? Tell us why or why not in the comments section.

Wouldn't actual STD, unplanned pregnancy and safe sex rates be much better guides to judge what schools are "sexually healthy". You can have all the bowls of condoms in the RA office and Sex ed emails in the world but if people aren't actually using the resources and information it's worthless.

The study was designed by a condom manufacturer, so I am sure they are much more concerned with advocating STD prevention than the actual outcomes of said prevention. Which was evident from the methodology of the study which did only looked at preventative measures and not outcomes.

For schools that aren't rich Ivy League ones, the way safe sex measures would get attention and therefore money allocated is if there was a problem identified in the past (otherwise, as the saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". ) Trojans reasoning would be like calling Israel the safest country from terrorism, because there are so many anti-terrorist rules, metal detectors, armed soldiers patrolling, checkpoints, etc. In reality, they have all those preventative measures because they are by far one of the most dangerous countries in the world in terms of terrorism. Similarly, using Trojans reasoning, late 1940s West Germany would be one of "the 10 most tolerant countries," because it had so many measures to prevent hate crime and Nazism. In reality it had those measures not because it was tolerant, but for the opposite reason, because there were quite literally millions of former Nazis running around who needed to be kept in check.

This isn't the sexually healthiest, that would be the schools with the lowest STIs (probably schools with low alcohol use e.g., Air Force Academy, BYU, etc., since alcohol use is strongly linked to unsafe sexual practices). This is just the schools who do the best job pushing Trojan products. Only about half of undergrad MIT students have ever had sex compared to about 9/10 of the average college undergrad, and those MIT students that did had significantly fewer sexual partners. If South Carolina or Oregon State has sexually healthier students, rather than just more demand for condoms, I will eat my hat

Oh hey look, my alma mater (Colorado State) made this list!

Not surprised at all. When I was a student, you could stop by "Pat's Pleasure Cart" in the student center and get just about ANY type of condom/lube/etc . . . for free. And the Planned Parenthood on the edge of campus.

You can't spell "Orgasm" without "Go Rams"! ;)

What a great honor, a Trojan award. They deserve all of the credit. Really smart people.

Didn't appear to be much of a pattern. At least not one that I could detect.

Why does HP always ask these college questions where the answer is always the same colleges?

Well, yea, what'd you expect. To get into any one of these places you need to have some brains.

Maybe. Harvard and Yale are teeming with legacy admissions.

With schools like Colorado State, Oregon State, and Iowa on the list, kind of strange you instead picked on schools with much, much smarter student bodies (judging by class rank and SAT scores of incoming students).

CalTech should be on this list.
When we moved our daughter into the dorms there in 1995, there were large baskets of condoms always available in the lounges of all of the dorms. As parents, rather than being put off by this, we were glad that the school had a mature and pragmatic attitude toward the student's sexuality.

I think kids actually have to be having sex at the schools in question for them to be "sexually healthy"

Stockpiling simply means trying to buy items before you need them so you don’t have to pay full price. We always sample from "Get Official Samples" until we need something to go out and buy it
