The Huffington Post     First Posted: 10/25/2011 6:44 pm   Updated: 12/25/2011 4:12 am

In honor of her birthday tomorrow (maybe?), Hillary Clinton wore a scrunchie today.

You might remember the Epic Hillary Scrunchie Incident of July 2011. Well, Clinton's brought it back, this time in black, as she addressed the press alongside Peruvian Prime Minister Salomon Lerner in DC today.

ALL HAIL THE SCRUNCHIE.

Vote below!

Quick Poll

Are you feeling the Hillary scrunchie?

Yes! It's cute and functional.

Are you kidding me? What is this, the '80s?

I'd like to think most of us fuss over her because we admire her so much, not so much to criticize. She cought strap a bundt pan to her head and I'd say GO GIRL!

Hilary Clinton, the ONLY Secretary of State who's hair is talked about. This would not freakin' be a topic of concern if she were male. Grow up, people.

All these females (never mind the males) don't bother to talk about some guys shoes or his shirts or his suits either. This is an almost exclusively female thing.

I am utterly disappointed that HuffPo has gone there, again. WHY does the hairstyle of our Secretary of State matter?? WHY did two women not push back on doing this article? Where was the denial to do yet another story on women's fashion choices...but not just any woman, the most powerful political woman in our Nation....Women are not defined by their fashion choices. Some of us choose to be fashionable, and some of us do not...regardless that is not news. It is not political news. When did HuffPo become What Not To Wear? You are driving away your readership by stooping to such low levels of intellectual drivel. Why not challenge us ALL to think smarter, better, more forward. Lets not keep regurgitating the same old stereotypes for strong women.

It DOES matter. When we are grown up women, it calls for grown up style!! As a retired executive recruiter I would never let a professional intelligent women look like a teen ager in a pony tail - it detracts from being serios! Hair syle sends a message!

""Hair style sends a message!""

And that is exactly the problem, that too many people are so concerned with some illusory, never mind irrelevant, message in another persons hair style.

Madame Secretary, like most women of a certain age, looks better with her pulled away from her face. I think scrunchies are an abomination, but it this case, it's makes for a significant improvemnet over wearing her hair long and loose which is less becoming to her.

As other commenters have said, it's classy and classic - but can we take the next step and get her a proper set of hairpins and a chignon, shall we?

Hillary has beautiful hair. Wearing it longer as she has been doing gives her a lot more options, and this one is a classic. She is a very busy woman and doesn't have the time or the inclination to
have a helmet "do." Good for her; she looks classic and classy. And this look shows off her
beautiful jewelry. Also, it doesn't hurt that she's pointing out the distinction between the freedom
of the western world and the burqa clad oppression of women in the Arab world. I love her longer hair!

Hillary's campaign hairdo was VERY becoming and she looked awesome, professional, and capable; but now with long grayish hair she looks old and frumpy.

With her schedule, she probably doesn't have the time to look 'awesome' all the time. It's an exhausting position.

And she isn't 40 anymore.

What a silly article! There is nothing wrong with what this lady is wearing. Geez.

I will say this though, she needs to dye her hair darker, even brunette maybe. That gray mixed with blonde lightness is washing her out and aging her big time.

I agree about the color. And she needs it cut and shaped, too. As much as I hate to say it (since it applies to me, too), older women cannot do the casual thing as easily as younger women, and have to spruce up a bit more not to look tired and worn out--even though we ARE tired and worn out, LOL.
