Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Romney-Perry: Americans For Herman Cain Launches Web Clip Over Pair's Debate Encounter (VIDEO)
Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots fans rejoice. The classic game is experiencing a political revival.
Last Tuesday, GOP candidates Mitt Romney and Rick Perry engaged in a heated encounter during the Las Vegas presidential debate. The intensity behind the duo's altercation has prompted a pro-Herman Cain Super PAC to take those tussles to a new level.
Americans for Herman Cain has released "Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Romney-Perry", a web clip that morphs Romney and Perry into argumentative robot form.
Complete with boxing bells, the 70-second ad profiles four rounds of Romney and Perry's bickering over their stances on immigration issues. Both candidates took hits on their records in Las Vegas -- Romney over hiring companies that employed undocumented individuals, and Perry over his 2001 Texas in-state tuition policy for undocumented students.
The visuals then come into play, with Romney and Perry's shoulders turning into robot arms. A cacophony of yelling culminates with the phrase "They're right about one thing: each other." With about ten seconds to spare, viewers are serenaded to the tune of "Eye of The Tiger". They learn that "there is a conservative choice" and that man is Herman Cain.
While the Oct. 18 debate indicated that the race was down to Romney-Perry, that Cain claim may be credible among voters. A CBS News/New York Times poll released on Tuesday still has Cain as the front-runner. Romney sits in a close second-place spot, while Perry lags at a distant fifth-place.
