Libya: Saif al-Islam Gaddafi To Surrender To International Criminal Court, National Transitional Council Says

Reuters is reporting that Muammar Gaddafi's son Saif al-Islam is planning to turn himself in to the International Criminal Court in The Hague. According to a senior Libyan military official, Saif al-Islam and former intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi plan to surrender through an unnamed neighboring country, Reuters reports.

Al Arabiya, however, reports that the International Criminal Court has no proof that Saif al-Islam plans to surrender.

Saif al-Islam previously vowed not to surrender. His father Muammar Gaddafi was killed last Thursday in Sirte, Libya.

If his father had done the same thing his son is doing he would be in jail, but alive. Gadaffi could have flown to the Hague and turned himself in. They would have treated him well.

What kind of assurance do you have of that.....these are mad dog mass murderers, they have killed maimed and tortured hundreds of thousands of their own people. Even if he could have survived 50 years in a UN Hague prison he would still be killed eventually! This is not like the US where you kill someone and they give you 10 to 20 and you are out in 6 with good behavior!

OK, he is going to turn himself in. Why should we care. We just need to get all of the US assets out of there and concentrate on our country's problems. Libya did nothing to help us with the PanAm #103 bombing. It's just another third world country that was run by a money hungry dictator. We need to take some of the frozen assests we have and give to the PanAm flight survivors.

I hope we can take the Gaddafi's billions that we froze to help pay off some of our deficit. Then maybe, just maybe, the politicans, with their corrupt fingers, will leave alone and not cut the elderly's medicare and poor children's medicaid....oh I know......just wishful thinking......
