Mo'Nique Speaks Out In Favor Of Marriage Equality (VIDEO)

WATCH: Mo'Nique Joins Fight For Same-Sex Marriage

Academy Award-winning comedienne Mo'Nique has joined the voices of those speaking out in support of marriage equality for same-sex couples.

"I believe since we’ve all been given free will, let’s use our will to let others be free," says the actress, who won an Oscar in 2010 for her "Precious" performance. "Gay and lesbian couples believe in commitment, family and love."

Produced by Marylanders for Marriage Equality, Mo'Nique's clip is merely the latest in the high-profile, ongoing Web campaign. Americans for Marriage Equality, the group behind the national effort, has vowed to continue the campaign until the legislature votes next year on a bill to legalize same-sex marriage, The Washington Post is reporting.

The uncertain future of same-sex marriage has once again been in the headlines as anticipation over the 2012 presidential election heats up. Republican presidential hopefuls Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum have all spoken out in favor of a constitutional ban on same-sex marriage, while the National Organization of Marriage (NOM) reportedly re-purposed two photos of rallies for now-President Obama to make it look like thousands of people are attending their anti-marriage events.
