Snooki: I Don't Know Who J.K. Rowling And Maya Angelou Are (VIDEO)

Snooki Dumb

Do you ever get the feeling the "Jersey Shore" cast is putting it on for the cameras? It's hard to believe anyone could be that dumb, especially since many of them apparently went to college.

Snooki, a best-selling author who once admitted she didn't know what the word "monogamous" meant, continues to prove she has no idea about anything beyond big hair, "juice heads" and fake tanning.

The pint-sized reality TV star visited "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" last night to promote her second book, "Confessions Of A Guidette" and confirmed that it's somehow possible to be a best-selling author and not know who J.K. Rowling and Maya Angelou are.

Host Jimmy Kimmel told the reality star he was astounded that Snooki was able to write three books, (yes, she has a sequel to "Shore Thing" coming out as well) in a year when it takes an author like J.K Rowling three years to write a single book.

Snooki told Kimmel, "I don't know who that is, but I'm here." When told that Rowling is the author behind the "Harry Potter" series, Snooki replied, "Oh, ok, those movies are cool."

Later Kimmel joked to Snooki that she had used the word "friggin" 74 times in her book, breaking a record set by Dr. Maya Angelou.

"I don't know who that is ... I don't know who anybody is!" she said.

Keep in mind this is the same person Rutgers University paid $32,000 for two sold out Q & A sessions, this past March.

When you stop banging your head against the wall, you can start weeping for the future.

With the success of Jersey Shore, television has finally become what critics have been calling it for years...the idiot box.

This empire is crumbling. Seriously, people like this get to be rich and famous while teachers have to fight tooth and nail for smaller pay cuts than proposed. We are a sick, sick society.

In Snooki's intellectual world, a book is used to level a coffee table or prop open a window.

Look at her. It's doubtful she even knows what a J and K are. Race to the bottom continues...

I think it's probably worth pointing out...I believe Snooki had a ghost-writer for her book. So it's not exactly like she put the work into writing the book. If she'd really done that time, she'd probably have at least heard of Rowling. Most of us have.

Everyone has a right to be stupid; some people just abuse the privilege.

No one should have the right to be stupid. No one should be allowed to opt out of intelligence. More importantly people like Snooki discourage serious thinking. A nation that rewards a fool like this is not long for the planet.

The knowledge is mutual.

What the article fails to mention is that Snooki was actually paid $2000 more to speak at Rutgers than Nobel Laureate Toni Morrison, which just may be the final sign that the end of days is upon us.

Millenia from now anthropologists will study our society and think, "They believed this one woman should make more in one year than 5 teachers combined. What the hell?"
