Apple-Peach Chutney

Ingredients

  • 7 Golden Delicious apples (about 3 pounds), peeled, cored and chopped (about 10 cups)
  • 2 cans (15 to 16 oz. each) sliced peaches in extra-light syrup, drained, slices cut in thirds
  • 2 jars (15 oz. each) whole onions, drained
  • 11/2 cups packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Directions

  • Bring all ingredients to a boil in a large pot. Boil gently, uncovered, about 1 hour, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
  • Cool slightly (mixture will continue to thicken as it cools), pour into jars, cool, cover and refrigerate.
