Looks like directors weren't the only guys trying desperately to catch Marilyn's attention. Here's a sweet letter from a New York Times journalist asking the blonde bombshell to please, for the love of God, respond to him. It's just the right amounts of frustrated and enamored. And hey! We saw "My Week With Marilyn"! We get it.

I write to Sir Laurence Olivier and I get a prompt reply.

I write to you and three weeks go by without even an acknowledgement of an important enclosure.
