On Thursday night, the Bay Area's youngest shining stars gathered at Zynga's slick new SOMA headquarters, "the doghouse," for Fortune magazine's 40 Under 40 party.

250 guests including Mayor Ed Lee, Google's Marissa Mayer, Pandora founder (and party guest DJ) Tim Westergren, Instagram's Kevin Systrom, Third Eye Blind's Stephen Jenkins, Dropbox's Arash Ferdowsi and others stepped out in style for the party, debuting the cool new Zynga HQ. Partygoers played beer pong, drank cocktails, smiled for the photo booth and celebrated some of the decade's greatest innovations.

So 40 really is the new 30? Under 40? What is the significance? Don't get it.
