Soldier Surprises Wife At Chick-Fil-A Upon Return From Afghanistan (VIDEO)

Soldier Surprise Chick Fila A

The Huffington Post   First Posted: 10/28/11 06:51 PM ET Updated: 10/28/11 06:51 PM ET

When Amy Reed ordered a chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A, she had no idea what kind of surprise side would come with it.

She got her husband back.

According to WESH.com, spending Tuesday family nights at the Eustis, Fla. restaurant helped Amy cope with the absence of her husband, Staff Sergeant Chris Reed.

Her husband delivered her fast food to the table, along with sides of a huge smile, hug and kiss.

The Chick-fil-A staff was eager to help orchestrate the couple's reunion.

"It started off with her just screaming and her shedding tears. Then everyone started shedding tears. There wasn't a dry eye in the place," Chick-fil-A's Kevin O'Leary told WESH.

You can see the heartwarming surprise for yourself, which was posted on YouTube, below.

I've been there for all three of my son's homecomings. There's nothing quite like it. He left on deployment when his oldest child and only son was not quite six months old. It was a six month deployment and he missed the first birthday....barely. And I'll never forget him seeing his son walk for the first time that day on the pier. I still cry when I think about it.

Every time I see a military homecoming I get teary eyed. It is wonderful and joyous to have a loved one return from deployment. God bless all our service members and their families.

These videos always make me sad.

Please don't forget the thousands of children, spouses, parents, siblings, friends who cry wishing this type of reunion would happen for them. But they know it never could.

i agree that the reunions are nice, but why the suprises all the time. why don't you just come home without all of the dramatics. what are you trying to do sneak up on her? i will bet some of these guys pulling this stunt have caught their wife with another man. nobody wants to talk about that.

That was the sweetest video. I love watching military homecomings, it's always genuinely happy!

A picture is worth a thousand words (or in this case a video). You don't have to ask what the families of our military sacrifice for the rest of us. Watch this and you'll understand without a single point having the needed to have been spoken.

After all those news of people doing harm to their children, of bullying, serial killers, sexual pedrators and the usual celebrities bs, it's refreshing to watch this video of a returning soldier surprising his wife at a fast food joint. And it made me proud to watch how everybody in the place started applauding. This is what I like to think is the real United States of America, a place of love and solidarity among each other. I pray all of our guys serving in the military are back home soon.

As heartwarming as these reunions are, can't wait for the day when they no longer occur.
These wars have gone on far too long.

There's few things in life more rewarding that watching these reunion videos. However, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, war is a business. They'll never completely go away. If it's not one religion against another its a quick fix for a sagging economy. People make money, jobs are dependent on it, and people die in the process. History has shown this is the way things work. It's a shame. Kudo's to those who protect our country.
