Eddie Murphy Writing A Sci-Fi Comedy, Murphy To Star

Out Of This World

While Eddie Murphy has nabbed one of the most prestigious jobs in Hollywood, this comic's got more than just awards on his mind.

Turns out he's in a galaxy far, far away.

Reportedly that the funnyman is currently working on a sci-fi comedy, with Murphy playing the lead.

"I still want to do something like that," Murphy told Rolling Stone. "I have this idea called Jamal and Tyrell and Omar and Brick and Michael's Wack-Ass Weekend about this group of guys who get abducted by aliens on the way to the fights. I'm writing that now."

There's nothing more we'd rather think about than Murphy taking a "Harold and Kumar"-esque "Wack-ass Weekend" in space but right now the star is joining a whole lot of jokers in the Brett Ratner directed "Tower Heist."

Between Murphy's sci-fi development, and the "Independence Day" sequel, we're really on cloud nine.
