WATCH: Man Runs On Field, Attacks Soccer Defender During Match

A frightening moment occurred during a soccer match between Romanian teams Steaua Bucharest and Petrolul Ploiesti on Sunday. After the visiting Steaua Bucharest took a 2-0 lead, a fan of the home team ran onto the field and somehow, nobody saw him until he was running amongst the players.

The pitch invader was able to jog on the field, sneak up behind Steaua Bucharest defender George Galamaz and punch him in the head.

Galamaz's teammates rushed to get revenge on the encroaching fan, throwing him to the ground and kicking him while he was down.

According to The Telegraph, security personel broke up the incident, arrested the fan -- who didn't last as long on the field as this dog. The the game was eventually called off after a flare was thrown on the field.

Fans rushing the field have become a little too common over the last year.

In May, another fan was able to get on the field and attack Glasgow Celtic manager Neil Lennon. He made contact with Lennon just before getting taken down by police and arrested. Fortunately, Lennon was not harmed. Just a few weeks later, a fan assaulted a goalkeeper during a Swedish league match.

Earlier this month, a fan dressed up as a referee at a college football game between Arizona and UCLA managed to run onto the field untouched. The unexpected appearance by the fake referee, who began to strip down once he was on the field, ignited a chaotic chain reaction that culminated with a giant fight between the teams.
