Kim Kardashian Divorce: Star Splits From Kris Humphries

UPDATE #3:
Though Kim Kardashian's family has avoided commenting on news of her divorce today, both Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian have released statements about it on their blogs.

Kourtney writes:

"Our sister is going through a difficult time but we"re a close family and are sticking together like always. Kim, we love you. We appreciate everyone’s kindness and support."

Khloe writes:

"I just want to thank all of our amazing fans for your unconditional love and support. My sister is going through a very difficult time and your kindness right now means the world to all of us. Kim, we love you more than anything."

UPDATE #2:
Kris Humphries has also released a statement to TMZ about Kim filing for divorce today -- a fact he reportedly learned via TMZ's initial story.

"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce ... I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."

Kim Kardashian has released a statement to E! News regarding her divorce.

"After careful consideration, I have decided to end my marriage," she said. "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision. I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."

After millions of dollars and many hours on E! leading up to their wedding, it's over for newlyweds Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries.

Kardashian filed for divorce today from Humphries, citing "irreconcilable differences," according to TMZ, which has obtained the official documents.

E! mogul Ryan Seacrest confirmed news of the split.

"Yes @kimkardashian is filing for divorce this morning," he tweeted Monday.

Sources tell TMZ that the split stems from a difference in opinion on where the couple was planning to live. Humphries hopes to settle down in Minnesota, while Kardashian wants to stay in California near her family.

The pair began dating in December 2010 and their relationship was chronicled on "Keeping Up With The Kardashians," with the season finale capturing Humphries' romantic proposal.

And then came the wedding.

The news of the couple's split comes just 72 days after their highly-publicized wedding, in which close to 500 of their closest friends, family and E! camera crews gathered in Montecito, Calif., on August 20 to watch the reality star marry the New Jersey Nets player.

But things haven't been smooth sailing since their August nuptials. The couple has been busy filming a new season of "Kourtney & Kim Take New York," and rumors have been swirling that all is not well in the Kardashian-Humphries household.

It's also rumored that Kardashian had lunch with ex-boyfriend Reggie Bush over the weekend, which just added fuel to the fire.

How horrible. Give the man back his ring, its not a gift, its a wedding ring...it represents a promise that she is obviously not going to live up to. And I think he should receive all money from the wedding commercials, he was fooled right along with the rest of the public. The girls are all very into themselves, don't know why, not a one of them is all that, they just have money....and they don't want to share it with anyone.

How can you spend 10 million on a wedding and end it in no time flat, they have their priorities all wrong. I hope I teach my children more about marriage, values than what they see on television. While most people are struggling these days, she spends an astronomical amount of money on a wedding. It sickens me as well.

I am no fan of this wealthy trash but one day while channel surffing I saw her soon to be husband throw her in a swimming pool, lake or something water any way. She had a fit that any two year old would of been proud of tears and all it was hillarious. How could he treat ME like this she screamed!That told me right then it would never last. He seemed down to earth just your average guy that would never fit into the porn stars life style. The K's have no clue of how to act like normal people just having fun. There lives are just a circus freak show.

HP wants to know your reactions to this "news." It should add "Disgusted" to the list of possible replies. No one is surprised by the split. The fact that the woman is famous for being famous and has made millions from selling manufactured bits of her life is repulsive. The money from her "wedding" could help countless hungry children, unemployed veterans, dying forests, dried up wells, suffering patients, homeless people, abused animals, etc. The list of the good this money could have done rather than line the Kardashian coffers is endless. Maybe their fans should consider this and tweet about it...
