As she continues to settle into her role as an Oxfam ambassador, Kristin Davis has taken a keen interest in empowering women in need, CNN reports.

Davis teared up while sharing her personal stories with the news network about her work in Africa, helping women who haven't had access to education or vocational training.

“Just going is such an inspiration for me,” the former "Sex and the City" star said of her volunteer missions. “I would go whether anybody asked me to do it at all.”

Davis said the female farmers in Africa, along whom she worked side-by-side, particularly inspired her.

“There are good things happening and there are people really trying to make a change," Davis told the news network. "It’s wonderful to be able to meet them and be inspired by them and to talk about them."

Africa is a continent three times the size of the continental US, with a wide variety social standards, cultures, modes of life, cultures and experiences. It is terrible reporting and lazy journalism to caricature the whole continent as a hungry beggar.

I totally agree. American articles love to refer to the entire continent like everyone and everything is exactly the same.
