Ann Coulter On Herman Cain: 'Our Blacks Are So Much Better Than Their Blacks' (VIDEO)

First Posted: 11/01/11 08:54 AM ET Updated: 11/01/11 07:21 PM ET

Ann Coulter continued the conservative criticism of Politico for its article on Herman Cain during an appearance on Monday's "Hannity."

Politico drew swift right-wing fire for its Sunday article on Cain, which alleged that two female employees had accused him of sexual harassment in the 1990s. (The article also initially drew a fair amount of criticism from some journalists, who said that Politico's piece was flimsy.)

Cain appeared on Greta Van Susteren's show Monday night to explain the allegations.

Coulter used the same line of thinking that Rush Limbaugh employed on his Monday show: that the article is part of a process to tear down a black Republican. "Liberals detest, detest, detest conservative blacks," she said. "...This is now the second time a conservative black has had outrageous and what appear to be false allegations leveled against him." (The first, in her view, was Clarence Thomas.)

Hannity said that, while he was not downplaying the seriousness of sexual harassment, he felt that everyday office banter was being misconstrued too often as inappropriate. "These people are humorless," he said.

Coulter brought things back to race, saying that some women had been quick to forgive Bill Clinton for his sexual transgressions, but were attacking Herman Cain. "If you are a conservative black, they will believe the most horrible sexualized fantasies of these uptight white feminists," she said.

Hannity wondered why liberals were, in his words, so "threatened" by Cain. Coulter was blunt in her response.

"Our blacks are so much better than their blacks," she said, speaking of Democrats. "To become a black Republican, you don't just roll into it. You're not going with the flow...and that's why we have very impressive blacks in the Republican party."

A relative unknown upon his entry into the race, Herman Cain has experienced promising numbers in both name recognition, as well as the new metric of "positive intensity." These upward trends have since propelled him to the top of many GOP primary polls.

In late June, a Gallup poll showed Cain's name recognition up 25 percent from earlier in the year, to 46 percent. Meanwhile, his positive intensity score stood at 24, among the highest of any candidate in the field.

Enthusiastic supporters have also helped Cain take impressive wins at a variety of early straw poll events. He's taken the top spot at the Western Conservative Summit, the Georgia GOP Straw Poll in August (Georgia is Cain's home state), and more recently in Florida and Chicago.

Cain also won a February straw poll at an Arizona Tea Party event, beating Ron Paul in a vote among attendees, though at the time he was the only officially declared 2012 candidate involved.

Ann Coulter’s remarks are insensitive and insulting to everyone regardless of their race. Just like Rush Limbaugh referring to Mrs. Obama as uppity. The problem with Republicans and conservatives t which do not consider their selves racist is that they do not call people like Coulter and Limbaugh out on these things. African American Republicans need to also step up to the plate on these types of things. Richard Steele did a great job speaking out about Rush’s uppity remark. It is imperative that Rice, Powell and other notable African Americans to do the same thing. While the racist elements of the Republican Party follow and support these two and their ratings and pay checks go up, the Republican Party‘s diversity gap continues to broaden.

sounds like she's talking about her Pet Dog or cat. That is what they think of us. She would never support him as Presidential candidate because she would lose the true conservative base who would never vote for him. The mind set democrats take the black vote for granted. Blacks as a whole don''t vote consistently enough for anyone to depend on their vote. African Americans vote based on how bad things are . After Reagan/ Bush Bush/ Chenney they ran to the polls to elect Clinton. Because things were better in 2000 they decided to sit out the process and Bush/Chenney was allowed to steal the election. Bush came in destroyed the economy again so we ran to the polls in 2008. The reason the black community does not get the resources other communities like the Jewish community get is because we can be depended on to vote. The truth be told its not about race its about getting elected. The candidates court the people who will get them elected. African American need to stop standing on the corner and get into the race. We need to become a commodity to someone. When and if we do we will see lots of money funneled into our communities because the candidates would be fighting for out vote. The Republicans disrespect us because they have done their homework and they know we are a part time treat. Our community need to stop making excuses and stop waiting on a Savior.

Southern Democrats are members of the U.S. Democratic Party who reside in the American South. In the 19th century, they were the definitive pro-slavery wing of the party, opposed to both the anti-slavery Republicans (GOP) and the more liberal Northern Democrats.
Eventually "Redemption" was finalized in the Compromise of 1877 and the Redeemers gained control throughout the South. As the New Deal began to move Democrats as a whole to the left (at least economically), Southern Democrats largely stayed as conservative as they had always been, with some even breaking off to form farther right-wing splinters like the Dixiecrats. After the Civil Rights Movement successfully challenged the Jim Crow laws and other forms of institutionalized racism, and after the Democrats as a whole came to symbolize the mainstream left of the United States, the form, if not the content, of Southern Democratic politics began to change. At that point, most Southern Democrats defected to the Republican Party, and helped accelerate the latter's transformation into a more conservative organization.

Ann Coulter makes the statement about, Our blacks are so much better than their blacks, when Herman Cain forgot at some point in his life he had those sexual harassment allegations against him. Almost makes me want to ask, How can someone forget that? With him trying to be the next president, he probably wants to forget! Unreal.

I wrote the above wrong, it wasn't my intentions to do so. My apologies for the mistake I made. Quite frankly, I think the statement Ann Coulter made was completely ridiculous.

Liberal logic twister, once again. If someone said "our club members" or "my family" no one would accuse them of enslaving people. Libs can't argue the facts so they reinterpret what is said to make it a straw man.
08:08 PM on 11/08/2011
Please explain what facts the "libs" can't argue. The proof is in the pudding mister you can get your facts OR opinion directly from what she says! DO YOU ACTUALLY STAND BY WHAT SHE SAID? yes or no? There is absolutely nothing arguable about the statement. Im in awe of what your saying it is off topic but I get the feeling that you believe that your "possesive" blacks are better than the ones that disagree "Smarter/Dont believe what you believe. SMH

Apparently, somebody forgot to send "Miss" Ann the memo that slavery was abolished many, many years ago. Note to Ann, white folk don't own black folk anymore.

It's probably the decay and bad breath you get when you deprive yourself of healthy nutrients. How anyone can stand to be in the same room as her is astounding.

Has anyone told that evil succubus that slavery ended a very long time ago? There is no such thing as our blacks or their blacks. No person owns another person. Does she really mean to demean human being as "our" or theirs? Has she ever been told that there is no genetic basis for race or that race is merely a human perception? Take a person from Asia,a person from Africa, run DNA profiles on both and you will find thay are 98% alike genetically. There is no gene for race. People like her make me sick.

I expect this woman to say outrageous things. It is her shtick, a cheap trick to get attention because she has little of substance to offer. But here she goes too far, even for her. No decent person, no matter their political leanings, can be anything other than repulsed by her statement and the woman herself.
