Sitting in DuPage County Jail, Leticia Morua sobbed uncontrollably, unable to answer questions during the booking interview. "I felt humiliated," Morua said. "I was terrified thinking I would never see my children again."

The DuPage County deputy sheriff interviewing Morua got tired of waiting for answers and started screaming, "There is nothing you can do. You're an illegal. Why do you want to be here if you don't have papers?"
