Tito Jackson: We Tried To Intervene For Michael

LONDON -- Two of Michael Jackson's siblings say they tried to intervene to prevent his drug abuse but could not get close to their brother because of his security team.

Tito and Rebbie Jackson said Tuesday the family was aware of Michael's drug problem.

Tito Jackson says his late brother's security team acted as if he was the U.S. president and kept his family away. He says he got into physical fights with security personnel and was sometimes barred from his brother's gated property.

The two Jacksons are in London to promote Wednesday's premiere of a documentary about his life.

Their mother Katherine Jackson canceled her trip to London to attend the final days of the Los Angeles trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, accused of manslaughter in the pop star's death.

Murray's negligence is responsible for Michael's death. Whether Michael wanted Propofol or not, is quack's statement. As a physician, he darn well knew setting was improper, treatment inappropriate. Furthermore, had opportunity to refuse. People state no one held a gun to Michael's head. Certainly, Michael didn't hold a gun to Murray's either. Then we would have heard quack lie about it, like he's lied about everything else. Glad found guilty. Jurors drew appropriate conclusion, based on facts. Made up molestation jurors did same. R.I.P. lovely KOP. Missed everyday, by so many. Always love you.

The doctor had all the responsibility for his treatment regardless if MJ was a drug addict or not, but greed is stronger than professional ethics and he (Murray) cared more about his fat paycheck than his professional integrity, too bad, its gonna cost him his license! Hope this is a lesson to other doctors who just want to benefit from celebrities and ignore the problems just to get richer. I DO NOT believe for a second that MJ injected propofol himself.. that's not likely of a celebrity who is paying a big chunk to a doctor to take care of it, why would he do it himself? BS. It all boils down to the doctor was at fault. PERIOD. END OF STORY.

Conrad Murray was a scape goat. An innocent and refine man is sent to jail to cover up for a drug addict freak, who gave himself the fatal dose when the doctor left the room. Elvis's doctor didn't get convicted because Elvis was a good man and no one was to blame but Elvis himself. But because Michael was a freak they had to blame someone to keep Jackson's legacy alive. Lets put it this way, if you had an eight year old boy, and was going on vacation, who would you leave him with, Conrad Murray or Michael Jackson?

Where did all these "interventions" happen, anyway? Kathy Hilton said she saw no signs of any addition from September through November 2008; Michael and his family moved to Carolwood in December 2008, no record of "interventions during any of that time. If it was during MJ's time in Vegas, then Reb and Tito, why don't you say so, Janet as well, speaking of "interventions" but no dates whatsoever. And if they "tried", then they should have "tried" harder. His kids lived with him and one nanny; if the family was concerned, wouldn't they have voiced that concern to child welfare services? And where have Tito, Jackie and Marlon been during the trial - completely absent, that's where. Tito had a gig for $15 a night at some indian casino in Cabazon, CA; very obvious they have to get their careers going somehow, now that their source of income is gone. In the absence of any talent, just saying any sleazy thing they want is earning them a few bucks. Very sad.

Dr. Murray's role is not the only one that should be questioned here - The family has a responsibility to their son and brother and someone in the family failed, as well.

There is no way in hell any security team can prevent me from seeing my son, my brother or any of my siblings. I would demand intervention by the police and state health officials. Michael Jackson was failed by a lot of people who only used him!!!

In My opinion the Jackson family didn't try hard enough to get Michael help. Perhaps they should've threaten him by going public regarding his drug use. Telling the world that his children were in danger because of this addictions. But they were all cowards because they didn’t want to be cut off financially by Michael.

A wonderful revelation about Jackson has been the absolutely healthy and wonderful children he was raising. Who knew? We didn't, because we only heard what the press put out...and what he sometimes woefully screwed up, like dangling the kid over the balcony.

But his daughter Paris? You can't raise a kid like that with bad parenting. He was doing some extraordinarily CORRECT and healthy things with his own kids, and too bad we had to find out the truth of that by first having Michael pass away in an untimely death.

I think that MJ was the most talented of all the Jackson children; but he did seem to have some serious emotional and physical issues. When he chose to continue as a solo artist instead of the group's lead singer his decision affected the financial well-being of the entire family. It's rather sad that the other brothers couldn't take their musical talents to other singing groups during that time. I think that MJ was torn between family loyalty and being full of himself.

Tito and Rebbie Jackson, and the other lesser Jacksons bugged Michael for years, trying to get him to participate with them in tours and appearances that he didn't want to do. It cost MJ hundreds of thousands of dollars to disentangle himself from bogus engagements that members of the family sold using his name without his knowledge. The estate recently bailed Katherine Jackson out from a multi-million dollar judgment against her from the Moonies for promising MJ and failing to deliver.

The family NEVER tried to stage any interventions. People who worked with Michael on an everyday basis have stated repeatedly that they saw no evidence that he had a drug problem. Rebbie didn't 'intervene' when MJ wrote and produced her only hit. Tito didn't 'intervene' when MJ paid for his three sons' education after Tito walked away from his financial obligations to his family. They should be ashamed of themselves for sullying MJ's name.

BTW administering propofol in somebody's bedroom is unwise, but as a physician, it wasn't illegal for Conrad Murray to buy it or use it. It was MJ's bad luck that Murray was more interested in talking to his stripper jumpoffs than in keeping his patient alive.

@chitown, very well stated, shameful of any of the Jacksons to state this about Michael; he distanced himself from them as the bros were always milking him for money. After MJ went solo, their careers went bye-bye; obvious b/c now after his tragic, they all emerge from the woodwork attempting to revive their performance skills. Where have Tito, Jackie and Marlon been during this trial? THAT speaks volumes. All this talk about "interventions", how 'bout some dates and tiems? MJ was at Center Staging, Forum and Staples for months before his death. Fans were able to speak with him nearly daily and give him gifts with no trouble with bodyguards. So is T saying the family could not do likewise? BS!

great postl....i too wondered about all the "interventions."
we saw the same thing when OJ and Nicole Simpson were entwined.

They family all said they just "didn't know" about the abuse, and so forth...b.s., they were all on the OJ payroll and quite willing for Nicole to go through anything she had to go through to keep the paycheck coming. It's human nature.
But then, afterward, they start wearing crosses big enough to mount on a hilltop around their neck, and begin the sacred work of helping other "victims" like their sister.

What a bunch of nonsense. Just fundraising and spending.
Not the finest moment when the truth comes out about these "arrangements," but that people "buy it?" That surprises me. To no end.

And what exactly was Michael's "drug problem" according to Tito and Rebbie? Was it the greedy unprincipled doctor parked at Michael's home feeding him propofol every night? Has Tito Jackson appeared in court even one day during the Murray trial? Why would the family not have secured their own doctor to intervene or obtained their own private security team to counter the bodyguards who would not "let them in"? Yes, Tito, if you believed your brother had a serious prescription medication problem and was being handled, you should have tried a LOT harder.

This is not the first time I've heard that Mike kept his family at bay. In the Jacksons' TV movie, it was stated that they "needed an appointment to see their brother." Mike, even before prescription medication got the best of him, did everything possible to establish distance between himself and his family. I don't care what story Janet tells about their last time together sharing "Thai." Bullsh$$. Basically, they never saw Michael!! I don't blame Tito - just look at the way his brother treated HIM!!

Tito should have tried harder to save his brother.
We all know the doctor gave Michael Jackson the drug that killed him. So I guess he should be found guilty and sent to prison right? But think of it this way:Look at all the doctors that have killed and butchered so many people. Kanye's mother was killed by an unqualified doctor.The Bakkee doctor:Killed,raped and cut up many of our people. So do you think this doctor should be tagged and set free-to go about his deadly killing spree for cash?
