Filini, a modern Italian restaurant in Chicago's Aqua Tower, opened to the public Tuesday, along with the first U.S. location of an international hotel chain that hosts the eatery.

Located inside Chicago's new Radisson Blu Hotel, the two-story, 150-seat restaurant and bar features a communal, central dining table with a wheel of Grand Padano cheese, which is served with Cerignola olives to diners the moment they enter, according to a release. The space reflects the hotel's minimalist, modern architecture, with its Italian roots represented by mosaic flooring, a glass-encased wine wall of Italian imports and a ceramic-coated exhibition kitchen.

Stocked with cheese, charcuterie and other accents straight from "the boot," the menu was created by Executive Chef Christian Fantoni, formerly of Bice, and features a full breakfast, lunch and dinner menu, as well as smaller-scale bar fare.

"I want my love and passion for Italian food to transcend the plate," Fantoni said in a statement. "The menu reflects the chic and elegant design of Filini, as clean, simple flavors take center stage."
