NEW YORK - U.S. private-sector employers added 110,000 jobs in October, beating economists' expectations, a report by a payrolls processor showed on Wednesday.

Economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast the ADP National Employment Report would show a gain of 101,000 jobs. September's private payrolls were revised up to an increase of 116,000 from the previously reported 91,000.

The report is jointly developed with Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.

Well there it is, if the GOP wouldn't have insisted on downsizing government jobs we would have had a positive month.

One reason- it's hard for the republicant's to stop tourism.....
International and domestic tourism is up in our town.

Hard for republican'ts to stop, but not impossible- if their crazy "open carry" laws get passed and scare tourists away...

Here's proof positive that the Congressional Republican plan to create more jobs is working. In order to create more jobs, lower unemployment, and get more working families collecting paychecks again, we need to get the Democratic Senators and the President to get behind the house republicans to have them follow their lead.

What exactly have the Republicans done to create jobs. Since the Democrat controlled Senate and the POTUS all have to agree on anything that comes out of the House, I'd say by logical deduction the Dems get 2/3 of the credit. But looking at the obstructionist policy of the GOP I'd have to say inductively that the Dems get all the credit. Prove me wrong.

I see a lot of people saying "get the government out of the private sector".

How about you get the private sector out of the government first? Then we'll talk.

The private sector is the American people.

Stimulus in '09 worked right through this past Spring, staving off worse job losses. The Libya thing mixed with seasonal increases in fuel clobbered the shopper class. The Republican led debt crisis really stopped the fragile comeback. Games now over with Obama on offense and Occupy putting the real problems front and center, you're going to see improvement moving forward. Obama 2012!

Why?
Because the Federal Government is gridlocked. They cannot interfere.
Get the government OUT of the business of the eonomy and Americans will do the rest.

We are also doing this without the help of banks...

Go America!

Another step forward. Imagine what we could do with GOP help. I'd settle for one GOP vote at this point.

If Republicans didnt get the Republican headed Chamber of Commerce to agree to get 2/3 of it's members, many of which are experiencing record profits not to hire in 2011 or 2012, we'd really be rolling. The game is to simply prohibit the creation of jobs on Obama's watch. A poor economy is all they have to run on. It's imperative that no jobs get created. These reports are the worst thing that could ever be printed to a Republican. It's pretty unpatriotic to tell companies collectively sitting on a couple of trillion not to hire until a particular president is out of office.
03:36 AM on 11/03/2011
You act as if all business is in the pocket of the GOP enough that they would purposefully sabotage there own company by inhibiting growth that additional employees could bring, It might be that companies are sitting on there money because it is and unstable economic time.

I dont act like that at all. That's a leap you decided to take not me. What I did is state a fact that Tom Donahue a Republican heavy weight is the head of the Chamber of Commerce. It's a fact that 2/3 of the companies agreed to not hire this year or next. Some of these companies are experiencing record profits. This is similar to what Grover Norquist did. No matter the conditions Grover wont allow the GOP to raise revenues by raising taxes. The Chamber of Commerce wont allow their members to hire before the 2012 election. They will not participate in getting Obama elected again by helping lower unemployment. Just keep productivity inflated by making your workforce do more for the same salary instead of hiring and sit on your cash.

Economic uncertainty is just the excuse or cover. We've had 22 straight months of private sector growth. Interest rates are low. The market is up over 50% since Obama took office. If you take out the hits we've taken do to Europe's problems it would more than likely be soaring. We just got data saying that the economy is outgrowing expectations We were losing 770k jobs a month when W handed over the keys and housing has ticked up a bit. Obama has created or extended tax breaks to companies like being able to immediately write off future expenses as incentives to hire. They took these benefits and still wont hire.

Min. wage employers is a big problem. Hard to find a job and of course there is more min. wage jobs than higher paying jobs. Well thats how it is in my area. Most people who had a job on unemployment now get more from unemployment than a min. wage job. I know business owners who are millionaires but only pay min. wage to their employees. Needs to get rid of the business by not working there and not purchasing their services/products, Another company then will come in and fill void and pay employees more learning from what happened to last business. If your a millionaire owner of a business, you can afford to pay alot more than min. wage to employees. The goverment needs to get out of the way of the companies also.

110,000 new jobs added to the private sector is a step in the right direction, but how many of those jobs come with a pay rate equal to the jobs they're replacing? How many of those jobs pay enough to even live on? I'm betting that most pay substandard wages and/or involve the phrase "Would you like fries with that?"

To someone who has been looking for a job for more than 6 months, they would say, at least I have a job now and can put a little food on the table and keep a roof over my head until something better comes along.

And the people asking if you want fries with that order are thankful they have jobs also. Something is always better than nothing.
