Sleepless Teens: Should High Schools Start After 8 A.M.?

POLL: Should Schools Start Later So Teens Can Sleep Longer?

High school students across the country are waking up at the crack or dawn every day to make it to school by 8 a.m. or earlier. If you're one of the lucky ones, your school might start at 8:30 -- but chances are you'll have to be in first period earlier than that. The average teen gets less than seven hours of sleep on school nights, yet according to the National Sleep Foundation, teens require around nine and a half hours to perform their best. Now, a national online petition has been started to prevent schools from starting before 8 a.m. Take our poll and let us know what you think!
