Cable News Ratings: Top 25 Primetime Programs For October 2011 (PHOTOS, POLL)

Who Came Out On Top In The Cable News Wars?

October's cable news ratings are out, and Fox News reigned again. The perennial first place network claimed the top eight primetime shows last month. One of those shows was "The Five," the replacement show to Glenn Beck and a new addition to the network's permanent line-up.

Below that though, there's more evidence that CNN is making strides with its new line-up and the launch of Erin Burnett's "Outfront." In primetime, the network was up 13% in total viewers and 22% in the all-important 25-54 demographic. Meanwhile, MSNBC's primetime programs -- with the exception of "Hardball" -- were down compared to last October. Even so, MSNBC still came out ahead, showing that CNN has a ways to go.

MSNBC also remains strong in the day, with solid ratings for "Morning Joe" and growth in total viewers for "Andrea Mitchell Reports."

How did individual shows do? Below, see the top 25 primetime cable programs of October 2011.
